From Far:

"Really, it's impossible to respect a herbivore as a pet. A pet is a companion, a confidant, or a child substitute, and you can't respect an animal that chews grass.

Rabbits, deer, and the like aren't pets. At least a domesticated rat can give you the beady eye stare that gives you a tiny bit of respect that puts them on a more even footing with you. You know that your cat, dog,or heck, even a ferret, will give you a nasty chomp or swipe if you piss them off. There has to be a little shred of that kind of respect with a pet. Horses aren't really pets, and no matter how much you love them, you know in the back of your head that they can do you serious harm, if they put their minds to it. That kind of respect is neccessary, in my mind at least. Fish and birds, hamsters, gerbils and the like are just animated backdrops, and possibly emergency rations..."

*chuckles*... damnit! if I eat my poofers I'll die!
